John Schafer Watch - Jim Ramm / Mathew Ramsey Exposed

Hello, I am Daren Gerig, a partner of Schafer Gerig Associates. I am writing to you today to set the record straight in regards to the blog posted about our firm that is claiming we stole a website and are Nazis. We find this a good opportunity to focus on our commitment to Net Neutrality.

The blog in question was posted by a disgruntled man-boy named Mathew Ramsey who goes by the alias Jim Ramm. It is obvious by reading the blog by Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm that he has definite mental problems or in the least as an obsession with one of our clients that goes beyond the norm for most people age 45 – 50. So, to get back to the story, the blog was posted in an attempt to blackmail our firm and my partner, John Schafer, oh, actually the recent Dr. John Schafer, PhD! Blogger seems to be a good place to post & blackmail people since Google supports this behavior, so to all you crazy people that want to blackmail your ex-boss, wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend or whatever you will find a good place to do it here on Blogger!

So, how do Schafer Gerig Associates and John Schafer fit into this? Well, first let me explain that Schafer Gerig Associates is a parent company for many tech assets. John Schafer and I have been friends since we met at a military academy for boys during our high school years. After we graduated we took a few years off and went around the world and in particular we enjoyed Europe, the Philippines and Thailand the most! Needless to say, our parents were not to keen in us spending money, running around with girls and traveling the world while putting our “family responsibilities” off, ha ha. One night, while at a bar in Thailand, we both had a snoot-full and were hatching up plans to make money. We were both very technically advanced and most excited about the Internet! Keep in mind this was in the 1990’s before the Net was a big deal and before the dot-com bubble. Well, we both realized that we musst make a good chunk of money to follow our dreams of doing something with this new thing called the Internet! Being both naturally comfortable with technology we went to work for Investment Banking firms in NY. We were very lucky as we were able to focus our investments on winning firms as we were able to understand technology that would be worth something and what was not worth the paper the shares were written on! We spent nights reading Red Herrings and were involved with many syndicate deals were various firms raised capital for emerging technology firms. By the time we were 25 years old we had over 500 million US Dollars under management! We were a team that made money and we reached our goals! We got out of the business before the dot-com melt down! Yeah, the good days when CIEN (Ciena) stock was magic. We also made money on the downfall but that is another story, anyone remember the fall of CPTH, Critical Path? ha ha!

Now, freshly loaded with the money we earned, the reward for having no life outside of our Investment Banking firm and college, we were ready to start our own technology firm. Schafer Gerig Associates was born. John Schafer and I were ready to take on the world and the world was looking great! We invested in startups while developing our own Internet Services and Security firm. We bought and sold many of our assets throughout the years to other larger companies though our “incubation” strategy worked well for us! We made good money and we had a good time doing it. We now are focused on our consulting firms – services and security is where we enjoy working the most.

Where does Jeff Schoep and his NSM88 Records come in? Simple, in 2004 our affiliate company Space Needle Services and Security Group, one of our West Coast assets was contacted and told that Jeff Schoep was interested in our managed solutions. Our manager at Space Needle reported the details to us and mentioned Jeff’s political views. John Schafer and I both met and discussed the issue and our final decision was to bring Jeff Schoep on as a client based on the fact that we both believe heavily in Net Neutrality. In other words, it is not our job to police the Internet! If our client is offering legal services, it is okay with us. In fact, our firms have quite a diverse client base. Again, our policy is if it is legal per United States law, it is okay with us. After all, we are in business to make money. Jeff Schoep has a right to his politics as that is what makes America great. It is up to the American people to decide if they like Jeff’s politics and if they do, well, I suppose he will be our next President and if they don’t like his politics I guess he will keep on doing what he does to get his message out there! No matter what, Jeff has a right. While Schafer Gerig Associates under one of our affiliate firms provides security, consultation and other network services to Mr. Schoep, we do not create his content. The content is made by their own Web Masters our only jobs are to install the network, provide access to via a data center for his servers, install core software and maintain it.

Anyway, we received a call from one of our account managers in regard to one of our accounts, the account of Jeff Schoep. We were told that he had some issues where he had to terminate the employment of a guy named Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm. We were asked by Jeff to secure his web assets. Working alongside Mr. Schoep, our firm secured his property. No domains or websites were hacked or any other unethically behavior committed by our firm. Jeff Schoep and/or his firm was the registrant on record for all domains in question and his accounts were secured – locking out the terminated Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm. Later, we received calls and email from Mathew / Jim requesting we give him access to Jeff’s accounts and if we refused he would tell the world that we do business with Jeff Schoep. Well, we are used to getting pissed off email and calls from people that do not agree with some of our clients websites, polices or politics and we just write it all off as the cost of doing business in a FREE nation where there are people with many different opinions.

Wow, what a funny blog this is! I feel like a dork writing all of this though since this character Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm felt it necessary to try and bad mouth our firm, I felt it equally necessary to explain our position.

One of our firms’ strongest selling points for clients is that we do not pass judgment on them. We do not police the Internet. We do not decide what is right or wrong. We have many clients that some of you may think we should dump – but again – we are a business. We love America, we believe in the Constitution and feel all of our clients, as long as they follow the rules of this land, have a right to their own corner of the Internet whether that be Jeff Schoep, an adult content website, a church, a political party or any other person or entity that is following the laws of our land.

I personally thank Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm for bringing attention to our Steadfast Policy – a policy which was written by John Schafer and I and is included in the operating manuals at all of our firms which state that “The Company will not pass judgment on a clients beliefs, judge their web content or further discriminate against them based on their Constitutional right of free speech…”.

In conclusion I would like to say that I feel Mathew Ramsey / Jim Ramm should seek professional help based on some of the content I read supposedly written by him – content that seems as if it were written by a 14 year old boy that was dumped by his first girlfriend!

To anyone that needs a Free Speech internet presence, you are welcome here! We will provide you steadfast service and as long as you follow the law or the United States you will have no problems with us! Long live America!

For Schafer Gerig Associates, my good friend John Schafer and all of our Patriots that died for our Constitution,
